I just received information from Lacerte that they will no longer run on Windows 7 or Server 2008 & 2008R2.  They feel that since Microsoft will no longer be supporting security updates on Windows 7, it would be improper for them to run on that platform.  They feel that the security environment should be the most current up-date-platform available.  I don't disagree with them but I hope the newer Windows 7 computers we own can be upgraded in place.  I know that when they offered the free upgrade to Windows 10, not all of our computers were compatible.

I had nothing but problems with Lacerte on the only machine running Win 10. And now I need to invest $10g to upgrade servers and desktops?

    Ultratax looking better and better.

Al, I think Intuit is correct in their decision.  If Microsoft is not going to support Windows 7, they have no choice but to require a higher-level operating system.  With the amount of cyber-crime being directed at tax preparer, you must keep your security protocols up to date.
