  • 1.  SCH A -NY STATE FREEZE REFUND CHECK

    A client had their Sch A Real Estate Taxes adjusted upwards for the NYS Freeze refund check I deducted from the 1098. The IRS did not like that I had a negative amount in Sch A Real Estate Taxes.

    I reported the 1098  on line 6 less the Freeze Check on line 8.

    Net the two amounts on line 6 of Schedule A.
