1.  NYC STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS

I have a corporate client that recently started getting statements from the City of NY showing balances due for old periods that we have no information on. The statements from the

City reflect a somewhat different taxpayer name and I cannot determine if my client is the one being billed. The ID# is my clients. The periods being reflected are for the years 11/30/95 through 11/30/99. I have written to the City

And have not gotten any response. I do believe that there is a Statute of Limitations for collections but, so far, have only been able to find information regarding consumer debts. Some of these "debts" are over 20 years old. They appear to be for P & I. Does anyone have a clue as to how to proceed?
