This two-hour program will walk practitioners through the criminal tax investigation process, what triggers an investigation, and how to handle exams when there are indications of fraud.  Also, the program will cover issues around privilege, what practitioners should be doing to protect themselves, and what to do when the client’s records are, shall we say, less than stellar.  Finally, there will be a discussion of the role of forensic accountants in the criminal tax process and how ‘tax loss’ impacts federal sentencing for tax crimes.
