Feature: Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Regulations

Among the number of rules that govern U.S. banks and other financial institutions, the most impactful may be connected to beneficial ownership and the collection and maintenance of this information. The new beneficial ownership information reporting requirements will take effect on January 1, 2024. The intent of the new requirements is to unmask shell companies and protect against abuse by money launderers and other criminals. As a significant part of the requirements, it is important for tax professionals to inform their clients of these filing obligations, what they entail and the implications they have on the tax professional. Don’t miss this important update and ensuing discussion.

Learning Objectives:

This session will lead with NCCPAP’s National President who will give an update on various issues and topics affecting practitioners. Next, attendees will hear from our IRS liaison regarding specifics on the status of IRS Notices, Congressional legislation, and pending laws affecting your practices and your clients, based on NCCPAP’s recent visits with various legislators in Washington, D.C. These two topics will be followed by our featured speaker/topic detailed above, specifically updates and interpretation regarding the new Beneficial Ownership Information Regulations and how it will affect taxpayers.
