If the employee is subject to a quarantine order issued by a government unit, he/she would be eligible for 5 days of leave under the NYSPFL statute. If ill beyond that point, statutory disability might be applicable. Finally, the question of whether an accommodation of telecommuting might be applicable should be considered, depending on the job description.
