Our firm is looking to switch to UltraTax CS this summer. We currently use Proseries but we were looking for work flow automation solutions for the firm (SurePrep etc.) and unfortunately none of them seem to be compatible with Proseries which is why we want to switch tax programs. Has anyone converted from Proseries to UltraTax recently? Any conversion issues that we should be aware of before we make the leap? We'd appreciate any comments or share your experience because tax program conversion is a big undertaking and we want to make sure that we are converting to the right program.

I can only give you my thoughts on converting to Ultra Tax. I have been a subscriber to UT for my practice for approx. 14 years. During one long-term per-diem association, the firm's management/President (it is a PC) decided to leave UltraTax to switch to Proseries and unfortunately suffered an extensive cost of learning curve downtime. Around that same time, another similar scenario in which the management/President, long-term colleague (another PC) converted from proSystem fx to UltraTax and had very few conversion issues. Both of these cases differ from yours. I am merely trying to provide you with some comfort with the UT support team. I'm sorry I cannot provide any commentary in my memory on the high tech aspects with which you are seeking guidance other than I hope you will be satisfied with UT's quality and conversion/support technical team. Good luck.  Andrew C. Demsky (direct landline tel to my desk 516-679-6504)
