    A fellow tax preparer posted this regarding IT 229 NYS Real Property Tax Credit-

    of all the clients I e-filed NYS with this credit, not one of them has been issued a refund and in every case the NYS website Where's My Refund says the numbers don't match. Anyone else have this issue?

    Clients usually give you Total Real Estate taxes paid (net of Star Credit) 
    Does the STAR portion have to be identified for refund to be issued?

    So, in addition to Stimulus $ and Child Tax Credit info holding up returns, 
    will this hold up NYS returns?  Any comments/experience would be appreciated.

    The above is the link to look up the amount the taxpayer may have received as a  star credit.  One more step to do in preparing returns.
