    HI,

    I'm helping out two Afghani refugees with their tax filing this year.  Both are Dual-Status residents in 2023, unable to qualify as Resident Aliens because they were not here at the beginning of the year.

    Does anybody out there work with these types of returns?  I've read all the relevant publications and am left with a few questions I'd like to discuss offline.
