I have recently picked up a client that has a brokerage account for his business "MPP/PSP" for which he is the Trustee and is required to file form 5500. In the past it is assumed that his prior accountant calculated RMD's, contributions to employees, etc. Since I have no knowledge in this area and the filing of form 5500 is mandatory, I am looking for a referral of a firm that can do the  work and is available to to do the calculations, prepare the required forms , establish the documentation for the plan, etc.

Please advise if you have anyone in mind. There may be a lot of research and work involved to update the clients paperwork and all else to make him compliant.

As for the other a recommendations here I will tell you; There are almost 300 firnms in the mtro area who are or say they are TPAs. 

I will also tell you we only have 7 real competitors in the total. 

Danzinger and Markoff as well as Intac do really good work.  Others that have not been mentioned in this thread are Advanced Pension Actuaries, The Benefits Practice, ERP Pension Consultants and Associated Pension Consultants. Taking your chances with the rest. 

Many are using their TPA reach to either gather TPA revenue sharing and or gathering assets themelves.

My firm has used Danziger and Markhoff LLP for many years for filing of 5500's/compliance of profit sharing and 401K plans. They are an actuarial firm and take care of all areas of compliance with retirement accounts.
I had the same situation recently with a client who thought his filings were prepared and they were not.
