A small non-profit client hired a new exec director last Dec. There is no policy in place now. Coverage for the previous employee in that position was declined because he was an officer. What is the proper course of action to take now, 6 months after the "new" hiring? I'm concerned about possible penalties for not reporting the new employee, when he first started.

First time offender you can usually get the penalties knocked down to a nominal amount especially if you get them insurance before the board contacts them.

    Martin

Come to our next chapter meeting on Thursday, October 3 2013.  Steve Carbone, Long Island District director of the Workers Compensation Board, will be discussing and updating our chapter on the current Workers Compensation regulations.  If you have not resolved your question, bring it up that evening.

Dinner and networking start at 5.30 and Steve will start presenting at seven.

    I hope to see you!
