Job Description
IT consulting firm based in Jericho, Long Island, seeks Senior Bookkeeper / Assistant Controller to manage all aspects of the firm’s finances. A degree in Accounting is preferred, as is proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, as well as experience in an IT consulting firm or in a tech-related business. Candidates should be extremely detail-oriented and experienced in handling all aspects of a company’s finances including payroll processing, employee benefits administration, employee onboarding, client billing, managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, contract management, and account reconciliation.
Responsibilities include:
• Ensuring that client invoices are issued accurately and in a timely manner;
• Ensuring that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner, and maintaining relationships with Vendors;
• Ensuring that accounts receivable are collected promptly;
• Completing bank reconciliations in a timely manner;
• Submitting sales tax payments in a timely manner;
• Maintaining the chart of accounts;
• Maintaining an orderly accounting filing system;
• Maintaining a system of controls over accounting transactions;
• Issuing timely and complete financial statements;
• Supporting the production of the annual budget;
• Tracking variances from the budget and reporting significant issues to management;
• Providing financial analyses as needed.
