  • 1.  Alert-NYS sends Emails about non filing of 3/20 Sales Tax

    NYS has sent out emails (perhaps to every sales tax registrant in the state) that the sales tax due March 20th was not filed.  The email said to check your on-line NYS account for further details.

    The notices are wrong. (at least regarding those that have filed)  I checked for confirmation numbers and email acknowledgments and found all of the returns to be properly filed.

    Be prepared for a number of phone calls.  I have already emailed most of the client that might have received these notices.
