    Hi All,

Quick question. How much time is allowed between the time the client signs the efile authorizations and the time you file the returns? I have some that were signed 2 days ago. Should I have the clients redo them?
    Thanks in advance. Stay strong!

you have 3 days from the time that the 8879s are signed to file the return.  therefore, no need to have clients redo the forms.  going forward, you need to get into the habit of filing the returns as soon as the forms are signed to avoid issues.

And I've not heard of having clients resign the 8879s due to the CPA not being able to process the return

I have never had an issue with the number of days.  Clients all over the country sign them and mail them back to me, and that can be many days before I get them and file the returns.

Thank you all. I usually file as soon as I receive the signed authorizations. I only held it because a question arose after they signed. No changes were necessary and I wanted to ensure I was still in compliance.
