    Hi:

If an employer is closed and their employees are on unemployment can the employer take the employee retention credit for the first $10,000 of wages paid after the employees come back to work through Dec 31, 2020?

Or do you have to continue to pay the employees while the business is closed (without going on unemployment) as a qualification to get the employee retention credit?

    Thanks
