I ask every 1040 client what amount did they receive in the recovery rebate credit in

    April and Dec. Jan.2021.

Thats the amounts i used on the return,

however every client  is wrong. per the IRS

Is any body else having this problem.

    Thanks

It seems all are clients have selective memory loss

None of them remembered getting the payments until now when IRS is sending bios for the credits we took on their returns

I even added a line to my engagement letter and client prepared information to write in the amount of the first, and second credit (as client's don't usually return engagement letters until they send information)

Even when they were pressed to put in writing, several were incorrect, saying they did not receive it, and then I waste time looking into their notice as to why the refund or amount due is different.

But I will put in the request for information in writing for the third rebate as most clients were correct.

I've had about 1/2 dozen wrong. some forgot they received two or only a partial.

    Yes

    My clients as well.

I have instructed them to register at the IRS.gov site and search their economic recovery payments that way.

Still coming up with some very strange figures.

Having the same issues with clients but most when they "finally" really retrace the amounts they received versus what they should have gotten have been correct or off by less than $100. Not sure how to find the $100 or worth trying to go after it?!

Anyone having issues with 3rd Stimulus? For a few clients who either had a child in 2020 or did not have a dependent in 2019 (ie Taxpayer takes child every other year) but did in 2020 they are not receiving the $1400 for the dependent.

Just had the same issue. Had the client obtain a login to IRS website. Went on with her and there was the payment that she said she never received.

Not 100% of the time, but certainly a large percentage of clients.   Mark S. Rosman, CPA
