    I know that the contribution to an IRA is good until May 17th.  What about a contribution to a SEP.  Is that good until May 17,2021, or must a extension be filed by 4/15/21 so the SEP contribution can be made after 4/15//21..  Normally, when an extension is timely filed, a person can make a contribution to a SEP up until they file their tax return up to October 15th each year.

    The return should have been extended in March if A corp or partnership.  May extension if Schedule C.

    The SEP contribution needs to be made by due date unless extended.  If extended, contribution must be made prior to filing return
