Thank you for your participation in last Thursday evening's seminar at Crest Hollow Country Club. As you are well aware, the new tax act is extremely complex especially when dealing with the incredibly complicated Section 199A provisions of the new law.
Upon review of the evaluation forms, which we take seriously, it is clear to me, Robert Barnett, and the NCCPAP leadership, that the additional discussion and examples we had planned to present during session II are in fact necessary to ensure that you will be comfortable (if that is even possible) regarding the Section 199A provisions. You will be notified by email and social media posts when the additional handouts are available in the library for downloading or printing.
The additional slides include a more thorough review of the concepts and provisions of the law as well as many examples to further the discussion in a more practical way. We will direct the discussion to practical and real information that is relevant to YOU, the CPA preparing tax returns for the 2018 tax year. We will develop the provisions from the easy provisions (yes, there are some "easy" provisions) to the more complex ones. We will also discuss the conversion issues. Additionally we will try to lead the discussion in a manner which answers general scenario questions although I am sure you will have questions for which there are, unfortunately, no definitive answers yet.
Please note that Robert and I, but mostly Robert, will also be discussing Pass Thru Issues AND Loss Issues as well as some additional individual tax issues if time permits
It will be a very full program. We will begin at 4pm at the Crest Hollow Country Club in the Emerald Room off the main lobby.
We look forward to seeing you again next week.
All the best,
Bob Goldfarb
