I believe that there are entities offering prep classes, but I'm not sure who.
The enrolled agent's examination, given by the IRS, is purely on tax law, practice and procedure, federal only.
It has been said by many to be far more inclusive and far far tougher than the tax part of the CPA exam.
Many enrolled agents are ex-IRS employees, who if they meet certain stringent criteria length of IRS service in specific categories of position, and if I remember 15 or 20 years of tenure with IRS, can request that the exam requirement be waived as experience in lieu of exam, and if they qualify, the exam is waived, and application will be considered without having taken it. That is how I obtained my own enrolled agent's credentials.

For those of us that have staff that are not CPAs, but need to practice before NYS and IRS, its helpful (especially on the POA forms) if they are enrolled agents. Does anyone have a suggestion, or does NCCPAP have a course, to help facilitate training our non-CPA staff to be EA's?
