    Does anyone know of a company that specializes in Research and Development Costs that would work with a client of mine?  They want to make sure they get the highest credit possible.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi Matt,

     

    While I do not have R&D credit person to refer to you, I thought this was a great chance to remind everyone the in NYS R&D costs are also exempt from sales and use tax, and if sales or use tax was paid on R&D purchases including utilities, there is a 3 year lookback window for a refund.

    Matthew, Call me. I believe that I can help you,,,,  I am a retired IRS Large examination team coordinator. I dealt with the R& D credit constantly on large examinations, I can explain what can be included in the calculations and what can't...  I can also help your client to avoid using any of the problem credit mills that give rise to scrutiny , examination, and penalties and make sure that what aspects of research your client considers as qualifying falls within the regulations...
