so7C8dZxRLSiYM9lBzln_temp-T.jpgNeil D. Katz, J.D., LL.M, CPA, Managing Partner of Katz Chwat, P.C. President and Principal Lecturer at Katz Tax Seminars, LLC in Melville, NY and a long-standing member of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners (NCCPAP), will be presenting two topics at the this year’s Annual NCCPAP Accounting & Tax Symposium (ATS 2020), taking place on November 10, 13, 18, and 19. As has been his tradition for many years, he will be presenting 1040 Update: Federal Individual Income Taxes 2020 in two session to symposium attendees. His materials will be the most current available. In addition to the SECURE Act (passed in late 2019) and the CARES Act (passed in 2020 in response to COVID-19), the Federal Government has been busy addressing issues that still linger from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. During the sessions, he will focus on preparing CPAs, EAs and attorneys for planning discussions with their clients as this fiscal year come to an end, as well as help them ready themselves and their clients for filing their 2020 individual tax returns next year.

Mr. Katz will be presenting his second topic, Estate Planning After the 2020 Presidential Election: An Initial Reaction, along with Robert S. Barnett, Esq., CPA of Capell Barnett Matalon & Schoenfeld LLP in New York City and Jericho, NY. This session will cover the importance of planning relative to the estate, gift and GST tax rules. With the large exemptions that presently exist, this is an environment ripe for planning now. How will the 2020 Presidential and Congressional Elections change that? Only a few days after the election results, Katz and Barnett will share their insights as to what the future holds for estate planning, highlighting the possible need for immediate action. In addition, they will cover the many non-tax implications that also must be considered by attendees’ clients.

Don’t miss these and other opportunities to connect, learn, and share knowledge with other accounting and tax professionals at ATS 2020. Registration is now open. For more info, watch the conference video or visit nationalats.org.
