July 16 & 17 saw the launch of the first annual LITPS Technology Forum. NCCPAP, in conjunction with Accounting Today, offered CPE sessions on topics such as social media, the office of tomorrow, best apps for accountants, cloud computing, getting the most out of your tablet, client portals, telecommuting and much, much more. Attendees were treated to updated information on the accounting profession by keynote speaker Barry Melancon, president and CEO of the AICPA.
Vendors and sponsors displayed cutting edge technology and state-of-the-art software. A number of lucky attendees won raffle prizes, including a number of tablets.
While this writer went into the event with little expectation of walking away with new ideas, I walked away with a shopping list of new products, new apps, new marketing ideas for my practice and more! The Technology Forum turned out to be one of the most valuable events I've attended. I highly recommend every CPA in his or her own practice, every manager of a CPA firm, every IT manager of a CPA firm, plan to attend this outstanding event next year!
