During our Congressional meetings on Thursday, May 9, 2013 we were told by Representative Trey Radel of Florida about a Bill he co-sponsored with Representative Joseph Garcia called the "Safe ID Act". The "Safe ID Act" seeks to mask all but the last four digits of the social security number on Form W-2.
This across-the-aisle action against ID theft is encouraging.
As we shared this during meetings with other Congressional staff later in the day we were told they may seek to include other forms such as 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, etc in the Act.

I agree that this is a VERY positive step that they are taking.  are we able to get a copy of his proposal to go through the basics to see exactly what it covers?  This could be beneficial in our dealings with the IRS, as we are "attacking" this from various angles.
